Receiving a diagnosis of pancreatic cancer can feel overwhelming and frightening.

You will likely have lots of questions and concerns, and it can be hard to take everything in at once.

When you feel ready, you or a loved one can take some time to go through the information on our website.   It may help you feel more prepared ahead of your next appointment.

Here are some questions that you may want to ask your oncologist or member of your treating team.

  • What type of pancreatic cancer do I have?
  • Where in the pancreas is it located?
  • What is the stage?
  • Has it spread beyond my pancreas?
  • Am I eligible for surgery?
  • What treatments do you recommend at this time?
  • When will I be referred for genetic testing?
  • Are there any clinical trials that I am eligible for?

You may find it helpful to bring a support person to early appointments and/or take a pen and paper to make some notes.
